The Karachi Port handled 101,295 tonnes of cargo comprising 71,210 tonnes of import cargo and 30,085 tonnes of export cargo including 3,364 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 71,210 tonnes comprised of 11,098 tonnes of containerised cargo; 211 tonnes of general cargo; 20,700 tonnes of coal and 39,201 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,085 tonnes comprised of 20,077 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,468 tonnes of stone and 6,540 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,364 containers comprising of 754 containers import and 2,610 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 221 of 20's and 152 of 40's loaded while 57 of 20's and 86 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 383 of 20's and 309 of 40's loaded containers while 621 of 20's and 494 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Hyundai Paramount, ER Helgoland, Kota Karim, APL Germany, MT Karachi, Oriental Freesia and Grand Vega carrying containers, oil tankers and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. YM Enlightenment, Sima Prestige, Scot Bayern, MT Quetta and Grand Vega carrying containers, oil tankers and vehicles respectively currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely MT Quetta carrying oil tanker expected to sail on Wednesday. There were three vessels viz. X-Press Kailash, Navigs Strength and Bunga Lucerne carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while five vessels viz. Osaka Tower, Batam Trader, Hyundai Confidence, Northern Power and NOCC Pamolona carrying containers and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 45,427 tonnes comprising 32,449 tonnes of import cargo and 12,978 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 902 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 32,449 tonnes includes 10,230 tonnes of edible oil; 2,800 tonnes of LPG; 13,455 tonnes of coal and 5,964 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 12,978 tonnes includes 12,978 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were three ships namely CV X-Press Kailash, CV Seroja Enam and MT GSW Forward carrying containers and edible oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two ships namely MT Lingic Golar Penguin and MT White Purl carrying LNG and LPG mix are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV X-Press Kailash, CV Seroja Enam, Sea Pace, MV GSW Forward, MV White Purl, MT Lingic Golar Penguin and MT Falcon currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LNG, LPG mix and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships carrying containers and chemical were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday. There were three vessels carrying containers, LPG mix and edible oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were five ships namely CV Maersk Kinloss, CV Al Safat, CV Conti Basol, MV ATL Glory and MV New Legend Sapphire carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
