Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali has sought details about the cops deployed in different universities across the province for security purpose. Chairing a meeting at Police Headquarters here on Wednesday, the Provincial Police Chief directed Senior Superintendents of Police to also provide him with details of deficiencies, if any, in terms of human force and other resources in each of the police stations.
He on the occasion also directed the officials to introduce Crime Watch Projects in districts falling under their respective jurisdiction. This, he said was extremely relevant as nefarious elements arrested during ongoing operation were found to had moved to thickly populated areas as well as suburbs in the metropolis prior to materialising their terrorism or crime related schemes.
"It is therefore extremely important that citizens in general are taken on board and encouraged to assist police in the ongoing operation against criminals and terrorists," he said. IGP Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali said through the Crime Watch Projects a close co-ordination could be developed with the relevant stakeholders and an efficient vigil ensured about presence of suspicious elements or any unusual development in the area. Sindh Police Chief said residents must be encouraged to maintain a rapport with the police through due care towards their cultural and religious related sensitivities.
