The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) claims to have saved properties worth Rs 190 billion by swift response and professional fire-fighting. The Rescue 1122 fire service has responded to 71,751 fire emergencies. In fire incidents, as many as 4,740 people were injured during fire emergencies all over the Punjab including 1,246 in Lahore, 531 in Rawalpindi and 770 in Faisalabad, whereas 614 people died all over the Punjab in fire emergencies since its inception from 2007.
The comparative analysis further shows that total 25275 fire emergencies took place in commercial areas and 22821 in residential and 23655 in other areas. Director General Arshad Zia reviewing emergency data claimed on Wednesday that his Rescue 1122 had dealt over 71,000 fire incidents since its inception in June 2007 in all districts of the Punjab and rescued over 4,740 people.
He also aid 427 road accidents were reported in the Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 districts during the past 24 hours, which claimed four lives and 326 others seriously injured. He also said some 136 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were treated. The data claimed 193 drivers, 19 underage drivers, 67 pedestrians and 206 passengers were among the victims of these road crashes and 83 RTAs reported in Lahore control room, which affected 80 people placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 41 RTAs in Faisalabad with 44 victims and Multan remained at the third position with 29 RTAs and 29 victims.
