Political leaders of different political parties have strongly condemned terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University, Charsadda and demanded taking steps for security of schools, colleges and universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In his sharp reaction to the tragedy, president, ANP, Asfandyar Wali Khan was critical of the government in provision of security to educational institutions.
He has also announced 10-day mourning over the incident and donation of blood for the injured of the incident. He demanded the implementation of all points of the National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit and check on the activities of the banned outfits in the country. Similarly, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) has also strongly condemned terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University and demanded taking of suitable and solid measures for the security of schools, colleges and universities in the province.
In a joint condemnation statement issued here, Provincial President PPP, KP Khanzada Khan, General Secretary Mohammad Hamayun Khan and Secretary Information Liaquat Shabab said they were standing with all bereaved families in that hour of profound grief. Keeping in view the number of attacks and fears, the PPP leaders called for evolving a strategy of fool-proof security and checking. They said hurling threats of targeting educational institutions was a matter of sorrow and for the restoration of peace termed the implementation of all points of NAP in the province essential.
They said PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter expressed profound grief over the loss of precious lives and injuring of students in Bacha Khan University attack and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and courage to bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude.
Central Ameer, JUI-F, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has also condemned the attack on Bacha Khan University in strong words and expressed solidarity with the victims of the incident. Talking to media, he termed the attack on educational institutes as heinous and cowardice act, saying whole nation was standing with families of victims in that hour of profound grief.
