Condolences from top politicians have come, particularly from those of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam, following a gun-and-bomb attack on Wednesday on a university in the country's north-west which left 19 people dead and 17 injured. Party President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and senior central leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi have condemned the attack. "The martyred children are the future and hope of Pakistan, making innocent students target of terrorism is highly regrettable," they said.
