Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebaad Khan has emphasised the students to build their capacity through modern education and technology to better serve the country. He was speaking to 40-member delegation of students from Lahore Convent School here at the Governor House, said an official statement on Friday. He said the talent of students especially girl students could be best utilised by giving them opportunities in the fields of their interest. Thus, the country could be developed at fast pace.
He said the terrorists targeted Army Public School and Bacha Khan University in Charsada to stop education activities there. But, the show of great courage by the students, teachers and the parents frustrated the evil designs of the hostile forces. The entire nation was standing united and supporting the fight against the terrorists, he said. The Governor said various steps were being taken to promote higher education in Sindh. When he became Governor in 2002, there were 23 universities in the province and now the number is fifty, he said. The students took round of various portions of the Governor House. They praised the services of Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebaad Khan as the Governor.
