The professors of University of Karachi staged a rally on Friday to express solidarity with the victims of Bacha Khan University attack. Speaking on the occasion, KU Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Qaiser condemned the terrorist attack and said that the whole nation was now united against terrorism.
"Terrorists think that they can sabotage our academic activities through such attacks but this will never let our morale down and eliminate our thirst for knowledge. We support our brave army men in their fight to eliminate the menace of terrorism once and for all," he added.
Karachi University Teachers' Association (KUTS) President Professor Dr Shakeel Farooqui termed the attack a highly cowardly attack against humanity. "We must not get involved in a blame game and be united. All the terrorist attack, whether they are carried out in mosques, churches, temples or anywhere else, are highly condemnable," he added.
He said that in the past teachers were being killed outside educational institutions and now they were being attacked inside the educational institutions. "The family of our martyred teachers Dr Shakeel Auj and Dr Waheed ur Rehman are still awaiting justice," he added.
