Gas shortage in Sialkot: Consumers seek intervention of Ombudsman

Consumers are facing serious hardships due to low gas pressure in severe cold weather in Sialkot district. With the advent of winter, the problem of low gas pressure being confronted by the domestic consumers gets aggravate. The housewives said that they were not able even to prepare breakfast and food for their family members especially for the school going kids.
The domestic consumers complaints that insufficient gas was only being supplied for two hours which was a big joke the consumers and reflects the hypocrisy of government. The consumers appealed to the federal Ombudsman to direct Sui gas high ups to unearth the compressors installed by the people as a result of which consumers were being deprived from their due right. They alleged that mostly compressors were installed in newly established hosing colonies including Askari colonies but it was very unfortunate that local Sui gas department had become ineffective as a result of which dwellers of Sialkot cantonment especially Askari colonies were facing serious hardships due to non-availability of gas.
