The robbers and dacoits have gone on rampage in federal capital as eight vehicles and several bikes were stolen from the various parts of the city, contradicting hollow claims of the police of controlling crime. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, the city police registered eight cases of auto theft, four cases of robbery, 18 cases of dishonoured cheque, two cases of murder and one case of kidnapping during last week.
During last week, Aabpara police station registered three cases of auto theft and one case of dishonoured cheque. The carjackers stole a Mehran car bearing plate number (LEC-5362) of Muhammad Noman. The thieves also took away another Mehran car bearing pre-registration number (LW-903) of Saleem Ahmed worth Rs 500000. The thieves stole a bike (CP-050) of Waqas Masood valuing Rs 75000 from the limits of same police station.
Shehzad Town police station registered two cases of motor vehicle theft and one case of fake cheque during the period under review. Auto thieves stole a bike (RIL-7054) of Faiz Mehmood from the university car parking worth while lifted another bike (HM-748) of Wahid Hussain valuing Rs 90000.
Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of kidnapping and murder during last week. Muhammad Shehzad informed Bhara Kahu police station that wife of Jumma Gul kidnapped by Junaid and Israr. In another incident, unknown people killed Muhammad Arshad, brother of Zirat Khan in the limits of Bara Kahu police station. Shams Colony and Ramana police stations registered one case each of robbery while Koral and Khana police stations registered one case each of auto theft and murder.
