The three-day "Grand Turkish Festival" is going to be held during February 19-21 here at Port Grand. Consulate General of Turkey, Turkish Airlines, STM Engineering and Zorlu Enerji are the main sponsors of the event. Port Grand has been chosen to host this maiden festival of its kind in terms of its scale and the extent of food, shopping, music and entertainment that will be showcased at the festival for the people of Karachi to experience this extravaganza, amidst the usual safety, security and beauty of Port Grand.
A very large number of performers, artists and culinary specialists are being flown in from Turkey and are all expected to entertain Karachiites. Considering the scale of this event as well as its uniqueness, a large participation from the corporate and the private sector is also expected.
The entire Port Grand will be decorated to a Turkish Theme, where all the stages & areas of Port Grand will represent various popular venues of Turkey. The festival will have a large musical component with over 60 shows and over 100 stalls for Turkish Foods, Jewellery, Carpets, Ceramics, Handicrafts, Shawls, Stone & Brass Accessories, Lamps, Painting & Calligraphy and many other artifacts. The objective of the Festival is to recreate Turkish life through representing Turkey's rich culture, heritage and spectacular tourism experience as well as showcase the ties between the Turkish and Pakistani people.-PR
