Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR) University of Karachi in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser, Vice-Chancellor University of Karachi, awarded seven M.Phil and 26 PhD degrees. Students who were awarded the MPhil degree are Almas Hashmi in Chemistry (HEJ), Faisal Khan in Molecular Medicine, Qurat-Ul-Ain in Physiology, Zubair in Pharmaceutics, Saba Saleem in Commerce, Sumair in Pharmaceutics, and Rashid Mehmood in Applied Economics (AERC).
PhD degrees were awarded to Muhammad Mobin Siddiqi in Chemistry, Syed Mohsin Ali in Islamic Learning, Zareen Iftikhar in Biotechnology, Shumaiza Anis in Genetics, Durdana Rais Hashmi in Chemistry, Attiq Amjad in Islamic Learning, Sadaf Mustafa in Business Administration, Muhammad Waseem in Molecular Medicine, Syed Mazhar Abbas Rizvi in Pakistan Studies, Malik Shoiab Ahmed in Chemistry(HEJ), Rafeel Riaz from ISPA, Kehkashan Perveen in Biochemistry, Qadeer Ahmed in Sindhi, Muhammad Nadir in Chemistry, Nuzhat Aisha in Genetics, Sanam Khatoon in Sindhi, Burhan Khan in Chemistry(HEJ), Shazia Ashfaq in Political Science, Nida Hassan Ansari in Chemistry, Zahid Mahmood in Political Science, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman in Chemistry(HEJ), Saiqa Ishtiaq in Pharmacognosy, Fizzah Muslim in Islamic Learning, Farhan Kamrani in Psychology, Saima Akhtar in Public Administration and Nazia Qamar in Marine Biology.
