Taiwan stocks extended early gains to 2 percent near midday trade on Friday, tracking confidence in overseas markets and as investors hunted for bargains after recent lows. As of 0332 GMT, the main TAIEX index rose 2.0 percent, to 8,060.14 points. The electronics subindex rose 1.7 percent, while the financials subindex gained 4.3 percent. The index's gains were coming from five-month lows hit last week and as foreign investors have slowly started to net buy shares.
