Senior Advisor (Law)/Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar has directed the AGPR to resolve and decide all pending cases of pension of government employees in next 30 days and submit a report to federal ombudsman secretariat.
According to sources here on Sunday, Hafiz Ahsan has issued a letter to AGPR on the advice of Federal Ombudsman Pakistan, M. Salman Faroqui to immediately help mitigate sufferings of a number of retired government employees.
Through the letter, it is also advised to set certain standards of procedure to deal with pension issues of government employees and instructed AGPR to submit the strategy that all pension cases would be decided in 30 days in future with the co-ordination of all federal government employees and no lapse would be made in this regard.
He urged AGPR that a mechanism should be made that in future payment of pension should be made to all pensioners through their bank accounts and strategy in this regard may also be submitted to federal ombudsman secretariat on the next date of hearing.
Khokher issued notice on the instructions of the Federal Ombudsman to 67 Federal Government Ministries, Divisions and Departments to submit the list of their pending pension cases as well strategy for resolving these cases within stipulated time so in forth coming meeting necessary instructions should be issued to all concerned departments.
Senior Advisor (Law)/ Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat separately instructed all government departments to appoint Focal Persons of BS-20 and Establish pension cells in their respective departments for streamlining and early resolution of pension cases and for co-ordination with AGPR for their early settlements.
Senior adviser also urged AGPR to take steps that in future when a government employee will retire from service he or she should get his or her pension on the same day.
The Federal Government departments were asked to ensure automated service record and pension system for the government employees and for implementation of government/Finance Division's directions issued time to time on the subject matter a monitoring and evaluation system should be established.
The Grievance Commissioner further advised AGPR in person to attend the hearing on February 15 in the office of federal ombudsman secretariat and submit their comprehensive list of all old pension cases pending in AGPR beyond 30 days or of 30 days of every government department along-with their date of receipt and reason for delaying of every case.
