Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said on Sunday that the project of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute is the first and unique project of the country which will result in modern treatment facilities to kidney and liver patients.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting that reviewed the progress of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute project.
The Chief Minister said that the project was also a milestone with regard to development of health sector and provision of modern treatment facilities.
He said that the said Institute will be a masterpiece as far as medical science, clinical research and provision of treatment facilities are concerned.
"This project will be state-of-the-art and at par with the institutions of the highest standard of the world," he said adding that it would not only be for the people of Punjab but for the patients from entire country.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed displeasure over delay in some matters relating to the project and reprimanded the concerned authorities.
He said that delay in the implementation of the project of national importance would not be tolerated and work should be carried out on the project in a professional manner.
Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Specialised Health and Medical Education, Director General Lahore Development Authority, President Board of Governors of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute Dr Saeed Akhtar and concerned officials attended the meeting.
