All private schools will open in Punjab today (Monday) after successful negotiations between Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and All Pakistan Private Schools Federation here on Sunday.
Representatives of private schools led by Kashif Mirza held detailed negotiations with the Education Minister , DCO Lahore Captain Usman Younis (retd), CCPO Lahore Captain Amin Wains (retd) and officers of Education Department regarding their reservations over the steps being taken for security of schools.
The Minister assured that schools sealed on unsatisfactory security arrangements are being opened immediately, the cases registered against some schools will also be withdrawn on completion of security arrangements.
He said no action would be taken against any school on individual report of any official. The police officials will not be allowed to harass the staff in the name of security or going to schools.
He said the management of private schools would not allow anyone to enter the institution without any identification> No action will be taken against any school without recommendation of the concerned security committee. No compromise would be made on security SOPs, he added.
Talking to media, Rana Mashhood further said that no case will be registered against any school in future, however, owners of private schools will have to discharge their responsibilities regarding security of the children. He said the entire nation is in a state of war against terrorism but closer of schools will promote agenda of terrorists. Rana Mashhood said our next generation is our future and its protection at any cost is our duty.
DCO Lahore Captain Usman Younis (Retd) and CCPO Lahore Captain Amin Wains (R) also called upon the representatives of schools to remove their reservations after which Private Schools Association announced to open educational institutions on Monday.
