Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved bulk water supply to hill station Murree from River Jhelum at the cost of Rs 8.449 billion, here on Thursday to solve water shortage crisis of the country's most attractive tourist spot. The bulk water supply will be made to Murree through a 30-kilometre long pipeline and the project is likely to be completed in 18 months after the award of the contract.
Punjab Provincial Development Working Party also approved three other development schemes of various development sector in its 26th meeting of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan. Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of P&D Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
