Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), visited NAB KP Regional Bureau on Thursday to review its performance on the basis of annual inspection conducted by Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team at NAB Regional Bureau, Peshawar. NAB Chairman's Inspection & Monitoring Team (CI&MT) was deputed to conduct annual inspection of NAB KP Regional Bureau for the year 2015.
The inspection was carried out from February 2, 2016 to February 04, 2016 in order to review and evaluate the performance of NAB KP Bureau on the basis of a quantified grading system on the basis of the newly introduced quantified grading system. Senior member, Chairman's Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI&MT) along with his team conducted the said inspection for the year of 2015. He gave a detailed briefing to Chairman NAB about the inspection done and highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of NAB KP Regional Bureau.
He informed that on the directions of the Chairman NAB, a quantified grading system has been devised. Under this grading system, the performance of all NAB's Regional Bureaus is being evaluated during January and February 2016 at uniform criteria. 80% marks will be considered "Outstanding/Excellent", between 60% to 79% will be considered as "Very Good" between 40% to 49% will be considered as "Good", while marks less than 40% will be considered as "Below Average".
Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB, said that NAB KP kept the NAB Flag high. NAB KP is very important regional bureaus of NAB. It played prominent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB, he said In 2015, NAB KP received 4060 complaints which were all in process according to the law. NAB KP, out of 359 complaints verifications (CVs), completed 279 complaint verifications. NAB KP, out of 339 inquiries, completed 222 whereas out of 96 investigations, completed 57 investigations on merit during 2015. NAB KP has arrested 149 corrupts and filed 53 corruption references during 2015. The conviction rate was 80 percent. During 2015, NAB KP has recovered Rs 943.783 million during 2015.
