3400kg of hashish worth Rs 340 million seized

Model Customs Collectorate, Preventive on Thursday claimed to have seized 3400 kilograms of contraband hashish worth Rs 340 million from a truck near Moachko check post, Karachi. Talking to media at a press conference held at East Wharf, collector Tariq Huda said that the staff of Anti-Smuggling Organisation, MCC Preventive Karachi had seized 3400kgs of contraband hashish worth Rs 340 million along with a truck having registration no TAB-487 and food items including rice, flour and wheat straw etc.
He said that the contraband hashish mingled with other goods was recovered from the said truck at RCD highway, near Moachko Check Point, Karachi. This successful operation was launched pursuant to information that the contraband hashish would be mingled with other cargo consignments at Lyari Karachi and transported to Coastal area Balochistan for onward smuggling to foreign destinations. The two occupants of the truck (driver & conductor) namely Abdul Majeed s/o Sardoo and Muhammad Saleem s/o Pandok have been arrested and FIR No AS0-29/2016 has been lodged in the CNS Court, Karachi.
