The Met Office on Wednesday forecasts light to moderate rain and snowfall at the weekend. It said that another westerly wave was likely to produce more rain and snowfall during the middle of next week in the country. It said that isolated rain with snowfall was likely over the hills of Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Quetta, and Kalat divisions, besides Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir over the weekend.
"Scattered rain with snowfall over the hills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Balochistan, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during Tuesday to Thursday," it said. Expected amount of rainfall over Potohar plateau and rain-depended areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was enough to satisfy the water requirements for wheat, grams and pulses and asked the farmers to avoid additional irrigation to their crops at this stage.
