Bara Bazaar of Khyber Agency formally opened for general public after a long period of eight years. Political Agent, Khyber Agency, Shahab Ali Shah and local MNA Haji Nasir Khan Afridi formally inaugurated the opening of the bazaar through cutting the ribbon in a function Friday. On this occasion, the drivers of buses that entered into the bazaar first, second and third were also given cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 and 5,000 respectively.
Besides local traders, a large number of tribal notables, political and social figures were also present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah said he was fully satisfied with the security of Bara and it would be checked on daily basis. He said trading community would be provided all facilities and in case of any deficiency, it would be filled on emergency basis.
Talking to media, President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Haji Yar Asghar Afridi called for softening of the attitude of security forces at check posts and for the redressal of the losses of traders, adding a meeting should be arranged with the political agent, local MNA, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Minister for SAFRON to resolve their problems on priority basis.
