Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will give an extensive briefing in the Senate about ostensible cases against the Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz on February 10. The Interior Minister has sought detailed record of the cases registered against Maulana Abdul Aziz by the incumbent government and during the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regime which would be presented in the Upper House session, scheduled on February 10.
During the previous session of the Upper House leader of the opposition Senator Aitzaz Ahsan and other opposition parties severely criticised the government, especially Chaudhry Nisar for not arresting Lal Masjid's controversial chief despite several cases pending against him at Aabpara police station for his anti-state activities.
