Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has accused the National Accountability Bureau of conducting media trial of Pakistan Peoples Party's leaders, according to a private TV channel. "Under a particular agenda, NAB is harassing PPP's leaders such as Sharjeel Memon in a bid to tarnish their image and reputation," Shah added. The Chief Minister praised Sharjeel saying that many developed projects went to his credit and nobody blamed him for corruption.
He said Sharjeel saved people by removal of bill boards and that operation helped beautify Karachi. He said people lauded his services. "Sharjeel Memon resigned as Minister due to personal reasons. It is totally unfair to name him in Exit Control List (ECL) or implicate him in corruption cases," he said. Shah asked the federal government to stop the NAB from political victimisation.
