Not only was Fatima Surayya Bajia, who died on Wednesday, a great drama writer, she was also a highly adorable personality. She was born in Hyderabad (India) in 1930. Bajia started her career as an actress in a play aired by PTV in 1966. Her most famous dramas included Aroosa, Zeenat, Shama and Afshan. Those dramas that she penned for PTV added a new dimension to the popularity of the broadcast media. Through these writings, she created characters through which she highlighted societal issues in an effective and meaningful manner. She will always be remembered for her great contributions to PTV.
