The Specialised Health and Medical Education secretary made a surprise visit to the General Hospital Lahore on Saturday to question patients and their attendants over treatment facilities in the emergency and indoor and also reviewed the security system and ongoing development work. Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah also praised steps taken by hospital Principal Professor Dr Khalid Mehmood and his team.
He then visited the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences Phase-III where Principal Professor Khalid Mehmood told him that at present 40-beds, two operation theatres and an ICU were already working at the ground floor while its second phase would also do working in the next two months. He said 60 more beds would be included in this phase.
The Principal told him about spending the Punjab government funds and mentioned about another Rs 386 million to finish up with setting up an MRI and a digital x-ray at the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences. He also visited other sections and reviewed security system especially close circuit cameras and their working, recording and parking matters of the hospital.
