Four employees of a private company died while two other were wounded when fire broke out in a house at Sheikh Maltoon Town, a posh area of district Mardan on Monday morning, police and local sources said. Sources said that employees of a private company hired a house No 230, street No 4 at sector C at Sheikh Maltoon Town.
They further said that more than 19 employees were living in the same house. Sources added that on Monday early in the morning when an employee tried to set stove on fire the fire broke out due to gas leakage in the room. The sources furthermore said that four employees identified as Mohammad Shahbaz resident of Bahawal Nagar Punjab, Nauman resident of Islamabad, Mohammad Fasil resident of Khushal Garh Kohat and Mohammad Bilal resident of Kohat suffered serous burn injuries and died on the spot while two other employees identified as Akhtar and Naveed residents of Punjab suffered burn injuries and were shifted to Peshawar. The fire also gutted valuables worth thousands of rupees and also totally damaged the room of the house, sources added.
