Lahore Qalandars player Kevin Cooper has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action during Tuesday night's HBL Pakistan Super League Twenty20 game against the Quetta Gladiators at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. "Kevin Cooper is reported by match officials at the end of the match," a Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman said on Wednesday. "Cooper has now been placed on the warning list and may continue to be selected to play and bowl for his team in a PSL match."
Under the PSL Suspected Illegal Bowling Action policy, if a player is reported while on the warning list, the player will be suspended from bowling for the remainder of the PSL tournament and from bowling in any matches organised by the board until such date as he is cleared or upon conclusion of any ineligibility period. A player suspended from bowling may continue to be selected to play in matches, however, he will not be entitled to bowl, the PCB spokesman said, adding: "If suspended under the PSL Suspected Illegal Bowling Action policy, Cooper will have to go through the rehab process made applicable by the West Indies Cricket Board." Under the PSL playing conditions on reporting of bowlers for suspect bowling action the following applies:
-- any bowler reported for suspect or illegal bowling action by the match officials for the first time in any PSL match would be warned by the match referee in consultation with the on field umpires. - any bowler, who has been called or reported for suspect or illegal bowling action for the first time in any match, may be allowed to continue to bowl in the remaining matches of PSL.
-- in case the same bowler is reported again by the match officials/referee in any of the remaining matches after having been called for the first time, such bowler will not be allowed to bowl again in the remaining matches of the PSL. In case of a reported player belonging to Pakistan; he will have to go through the rehab process under the IBARC set up for this purpose by the board. In case of any bowler belonging to other countries than Pakistan is reported, he will have to go through the rehab process made applicable by his respective cricket board.
