An antiterrorism court on Wednesday handed over three alleged Indian agents into the custody of Rangers under 90-day preventive detention. The accused, who were arrested by the paramilitary force the other day, were identified as Faheem, Riaz and Nasir.
Colonel Shahid of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, told newsmen that the three accused were allegedly trained by India's external intelligence agency - Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) - in operating rocket launcher, missiles, Kalashnikov, and bomb manufacturing methods in Haryana city, besides they were also tasked to train terrorists in Pakistan on their return to the country.
He said that the accused during the course of action confessed to their involvement in several assaults in the city, including attacks on the Sindh Secretariat and the Police Headquarters, Garden and in targeted killings of several persons. The accused are associated with a notorious militant wing of a political party, the Rangers official said, adding that they initially went to Bangkok via Sri Lanka in 1994 and thereafter moved to Delhi and later they were trained by the RAW in Haryana.
