The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority says it will train free 4,800 youth in its three-month-demand driven light transport vehicle driving course this year. Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh addressing a meeting on Wednesday at his organisation's secretariat said, "The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, as per a direction by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has started the crash courses for the unemployed educated youth to provide them with employment."
He also said many pass-outs had been offered jobs by multi-national and national companies in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and many other companies had also assured to provide job to these drivers. "Middle Eastern countries require the services of trained manpower. The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, as per their requirements, have started the driving course with the collaboration of the National Highways and Motorway Police. After giving free training to 1,200 youth in the first phase, the second one has successfully started at 36 road safety training institutes of the National Highways and Motorway Police across the province."
