Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday. Matters regarding steps against terrorism under National Action Plan beside overall situation of the country were discussed in the meeting. Security situation of the country and final phase of local bodies' election also came under discussion on the occasion.
The Interior Minister on behalf of federal government assured full cooperation to Punjab with regard to existing security situation. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan reiterated their determination to root out terrorism, extremism and sectarianism and also expressed satisfaction over the steps taken in the province under National Action Plan. Shahbaz Sharif thanked Interior Minister for the provision of modern vehicles, necessary equipment and cooperation by the Interior Ministry. The Chief Minister further said that people of Punjab have expressed full confidence in the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N in local bodies' elections.
