The K-Electric has successfully installed the Aerial Bundle Cable (ABC) at Rehmat Chowk in Oragni here. An official of the organisation said Friday that the area was previously infested with illegal wiring and theft and is now a Low-Loss area with Zero Load-shed.
He said that the K-Electric was happy to announce that after months of planning and execution, the power utility has successfully completed the installation of Aerial Bundle Cables (ABC) in Rehmat Chowk, Orangi. This area was previously infested with Kundas (illegal cables) and was a high-loss area where the fault ratio was significantly high but after the completion of these cables, residents of Rehmat Chowk are now going to enjoy uninterrupted supply of electricity and a minimal fault ratio.
It was further pointed out that upon execution of ABC, the residents initially protested and created hurdles for the power utility but the management through camps and brochures educated these residents of the advantages this ABC system holds. Spokesperson KE said that this was a high-loss area and due to overloading of PMTs due to illegal theft wires and cables, the residents faced outages and faults on almost a daily basis. These residents were then informed about the benefits of these cables and they openly welcomed our teams for which we are thankful.
K-Electric is continuously executing and installing the Aerial Bundled Cables in different pockets of the city where the theft ratio has been high due to the kunda-system and the power utility plans to complete ABC installation in 15 Feeders within the next 3 years, the spokesman added.-PR
