The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday re-fixed date of by-election on National Assembly seat NA-245. The bye election will be held on April 7, instead of April 4, due to the administrative issues, said a notification issued here. However, the remaining stages of the bye election will remain intact, it added.
Earlier ECP had issued the schedule and according to it, nomination papers can be filed by candidates on March 7 and 8. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be performed on March 11 and 12. Appeals against the decision of Returning Officer about rejecting or accepting nomination papers can be filed on March 14, which would be decided on March 16. The candidates can withdraw nomination papers by March 17. The revised list of candidates would be issued the same day (March 17).
