The Army Remounts and the Dollar East/Master Paints qualified for the Borjan Punjab Polo Cup 2016 main finals while Master Paints/Habib Metro and Barry's will contest in subsidiary final. In the first match, Barry's defeated Al-Khan/Guard Group 7-6 after a tough battle. High-flying Pedro Zacharias was the hero of the day as he slammed superb seven goals in his team's triumph.
Pedro started the closely-contested match brilliantly as he hit the very first goal of the match which was equalised by Shah Qubilai through a field goal. Pedro once again provided a lead of 2-1 to Barry's but this time, Max Charlton levelled the score at 2-2. In the second match, the heroics of Major Omer Minhas and George Meyrick helped Army Remounts beat Learning Alliance in a thriller as the match was decided in the fifth chukker, where Omer smashed a fantastic field goal to help his team register a well-deserving victory and a berth in the main final.
In the third and final thrilling contest of the day, half-goal handicap advantage helped Dollar East/Master Paints beat Master Paints/Habib Metro 6-1/2-6. Juan Cruz Losada and Hamza Mawaz Khan scored three goals each for the winners while high-flying Pedro Guiterrez pumped in all the six goals but his heroics failed to save Master Paints/Habib Metro from facing the defeat. With this luck win, Dollar East/Master Paints got an opportunity to play the main final of the historical Punjab Polo Cup which was first played in 1886.
