Work on the master plan and engineering design of the proposed Lahore Knowledge Park (LKP) is slated to begin in earnest, following the formal signing of a contract agreement between the Lahore Knowledge Park Company (LKPC) and the consulting firm of Osmani & Company (Pvt) Limited. The agreement, for the award of the contract was signed in Lahore by the CEO of LKPC, Shahid Zaman Mohmand and Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ayub Jafri (Retd), Senior GM (Punjab), Osmani & Company (Pvt) Ltd.
Lahore Knowledge Park, LKP, a most important project for educational and economic development in the history of the Punjab, seeks to bridge industry and academia to put Punjab and, by extension Pakistan, on the road to a 21st century knowledge based economy for accelerated growth and development. A self-sustained holistic community, the LKP is envisaged to bring together leading industries, brands, institutes of higher learning and research organisations to create incubators for much needed productivity enhancement and value addition and make Pakistan the preferred destination for those seeking research based entrepreneurial excellence in line with the global knowledge economy.
The Chief Minister has already set aside 802 acres of prime land in DHA, Lahore for this mega project. Minister for Higher Education, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, CEO PBIT Amena Cheema, Chair Person of PHEC Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin also present on the occasion.-PR
