The Karachi Port handled 69,773 tonnes of cargo comprising 40,982 tonnes of import cargo and 28,791 tonnes of export cargo including 3,212 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 40,982 tonnes comprised of 5,425 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,014 tonnes of general cargo; 19,250 tonnes of coal and 12,293 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,791 tonnes comprised of 21,168 tonnes of containerised cargo; 347 tonnes of general cargo; 3,636 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 3,640 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,212 containers comprising of 349 containers import and 2,863 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 157 of 20's and 76 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 20 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 417 of 20's and 451 of 40's loaded containers while 190 of 20's and 677 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were ten ships namely ACX Crystal, Sima Prestige, APL Germany, BW Lioness, Navig8 Azurite, Mohar, Senanur Cebi, Positive Pioneer, SCL Leman and Hanne Danica carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, cement, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Ever Divine, Mid Fortune, Bunga Laurel, Positive Pioneer and Hanne Danica carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Bunga Laurel carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Wednesday while three ships namely Ever Divine, New Challenge and Margaret SW carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
There were three vessels viz. Hyundai Jakarta, Northern Power and Liberty Promise carrying containers and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four vessels viz. Leopard, Gadwall, Chang Hang Bin and Agata M carrying containers and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 159,420 tonnes comprising 103,742 tonnes of import cargo and 55,678 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,327 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 103,742 tonnes includes 11,376 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,770 tonnes of palm oil; 24,432 tonnes of LNG; 13,100 tonnes of coal; 13,570 tonnes of canola seeds; 762 tonnes of general cargo and 34,732 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 55,678 tonnes includes 8,197 tonnes of cement and 47,481 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There was one ship namely CV Maersk Detroit carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV Al-Rawdah carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Maersk Detroit, CV MSC Joanna, CV Al-Rawdah, MV Han De, MV Alam Mutiara, MV Pabur, MT Agiri, MT Al-Gattara and MT Feng Hai-6 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, coal, canola seeds, furnace oil, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely MV Clipper Viking, MT Gas Sallan, MT White Purl, MT Tomas Gas, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Al-Dasma and MT Bahra carrying chemical, LPG and diesel oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday.
There were two vessels viz. CV Maersk Karachi and MT White Purl carrying containers and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Beijing, CV Jadrana and CV Maipo carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
