The Karachi Port handled 98,136 tonnes of cargo comprising 84,490 tonnes of import cargo and 13,646 tonnes of export cargo including 3,625 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 84,490 tonnes comprised of 29,703 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,946 tonnes of general cargo; 11,385 tonnes of coal and 37,456 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,646 tonnes comprised of 11,228 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18 tonnes of general cargo and 2,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,625 containers comprising of 1,966 containers import and 1,659 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 926 of 20's and 420 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 100 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 279 of 20's and 145 of 40's loaded containers while 608 of 20's and 241 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were two ships namely Mid Fortune and Bunga Laurel carrying chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Northern Power, MT Karachi, Santa Cruz-1 and Liberty Promise carrying containers, oil tankers and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Ever Divine, New Challenge, Gadwall and Margaret SW carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday while three ships namely Northern Power, MT Karachi and El Zorro carrying containers and oil tankers respectively are expected to sail on Friday. There were two vessels viz. MT Lahore and Agata M carrying oil tanker and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Thursday while three vessels viz. Batam Trader, Intrepid Republic and Mandarin Fortune carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 166,751 tonnes comprising 149,078 tonnes of import cargo and 17,673 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,333 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 149,078 tonnes includes 48,215 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,020 tonnes of palm oil; 30,000 tonnes of LNG; 3,300 tonnes of LPG; 15,214 tonnes of coal; 15,411 tonnes of canola seeds; 285 tonnes of general cargo and 28,633 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,673 tonnes includes 1,979 tonnes of cement and 15,694 tonnes of containerised cargo. There was one ship namely MT Agiri carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Thursday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Maersk Karachi, CV Al-Rawdah, MV Meli Mass, MV Han De, MV Alam Mutiara, MV Pabur, MT Agiri, MT Feng Hai-6, MT Al-Gattara and MT White Purl currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, coal, canola seeds, furnace oil, palm oil, LNG and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as nine ships namely CV Jadrana, CV MSC Beijing, MV Clipper Viking, MT Gas Sallan, MT Tomas Gas, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Al-Dasma, MT Bahra and MT Bunga Akasia carrying containers, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Thursday.
There were four vessels viz. CV Jadrana, CV MSC Beijing, CV Maipo and MT Al-Dasma carrying containers and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were four ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Alighero, CV Rio Bravo and CV Maersk Inoshima carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
