The Karachi Port handled 149,465 tonnes of cargo comprising 123,062 tonnes of import cargo and 26,403 tonnes of export cargo including 3,625 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 123,062 tonnes comprised of 26,878 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,741 tonnes of general cargo and 84,443 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargo of 26,403 tonnes comprised of 25,113 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,290 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,625 containers comprising of 1,966 containers import and 1,659 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The break-up of imported containers shows 926 of 20's and 420 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 100 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 279 of 20's and 145 of 40's loaded containers while 608 of 20's and 241 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Ever Divine, Northern Power, New Challenge, El Zorro, Spar Corona, Gadwall and Margaret SW carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, steel coils and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were eight vessels viz. Leopard, Hyundai Jakarta, Batam Trader, SC Dalian, Chem Tiger, Gadwall, Chang Hang Bin and Mandarin Fortune carrying containers, oil tankers, steel coils, steel and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Ever Batam Trader and MT Karachi carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Friday while three ships namely Hyundai Jakarta, Santa Cruz-1 and Zhen Hua-18 carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There was one vessel viz. MT Lahore carrying oil tanker due to arrive on Friday while eight vessels viz. Al Abdali, Hanjin Indigo, UAFL Zanzibar, Intrepid Republic, Malhari, Chem Lyra, BBC Hudson and U Noble carrying containers, chemical, mogas and steel respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 155,788 tonnes comprising 93,921 tonnes of import cargo and 61,867 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,306 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 93,921 tonnes includes 25,062 tonnes of diesel oil; 1,904 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,860 tonnes of palm oil; 15,000 tonnes of LNG; 3,405 tonnes of LPG; 8,520 tonnes of canola seeds and 23,484 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 61,867 tonnes includes 3,537 tonnes of cement and 58,330 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were four ships namely CV Maipo, MV Alam Mutiara, MT White Purl and MT Feng Hai-6 carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while five ships namely CV Maersk Karachi, CV MSC Beijing, MV Meli Mass, MV Pabur and MT Al-Gattara carrying containers, cement, coal canola seeds and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Beijing, CV Maersk Karachi, CV Maipo, MV Meli Mass, MV Alam Mutiara, MV Pabur, MT Agiri, MT Al-Dasma, MT Feng Hai-6, MT Al-Gattara and MT White Purl currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, canola seeds, diesel oil, furnace oil, palm oil, LNG and LPG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV Rio Bravo, MV Clipper Viking, MT Gas Sallan, MT Tomas Gas, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Bahra, MT Quetta, MT Boar Chali and MT Bunga Akasia carrying containers, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were four vessels viz. CV Rio Bravo, CV Maersk Inoshima, MT BBC Hudson and MT Boar Chali carrying containers, project cargo and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There were three ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Al-Gero and MV Intrepid Republic carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Friday.
