Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid a visit to the site of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre on Saturday and presided over a high level meeting to review the matters relating to the project. He was given a briefing on the site of the project. The Chief Minister directed authorities concerned to ensure high quality of pile work of the project and more tests should be conducted for pile work.
Shahbaz said that this centre is of vital importance for the provision of modern health facilities to the citizens therefore it should be implemented with commitment and dedication. He said that Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre is a milestone with regard to provision of quality health facilities to the masses.
He said that this institute will be state-of-the-art in the region and also result in the facility of kidney and liver transplant. He said that like other projects of Punjab, this project will also be a masterpiece of standard and transparency. He said that a separate grid station will also be set up for the project.
Shahbaz said that concerned provincial and federal institutions should work on this project speedily and the link roads should be of the highest standard. He said that he will review the progress on the project on regular basis. President Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre Dr Saeed Akhtar gave a briefing on various matters relating to the project and the future strategy. Advisor Health Kh Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, concerned secretaries, Commissioner Lahore division, senior officials of federal institutions, MD NESPAK, President Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre Dr Saeed Akhtar besides other concerned officials attended the meeting.
