Pakistan Tax Advisors Association (PTAA) has requested Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend date of filing of tax returns under voluntary tax compliance scheme upto April 15. In a communication to the FBR, Chairman PTAA Javed Iqbal Qazi said the last date of submission of tax returns under VTCS as well as for non-corporate sector had been fixed as 15.3.2016.
PTAA has been approached by number of advocates, tax practitioners and chartered accountants to request FBR to very kindly extend the date to April 15 as due to litigation in sales tax and income tax matters they remained pre-occupied and as such could not devote time to advise their clients to avail the benefit of VTCS. Now they (advocates) are in a position to property guide their clients in this respect. In view of this, it is requested that the date of filing of tax returns under VTCS be extended till April 15 in the best interest of the taxpayers and the country, Javed Iqbal Qazi added.
