Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML Q) President Ch Shujaat Hussain and senior leader Ch Parvez Elahi have questioned as to why NAB and Rangers are not being allowed to work in Punjab?
Talking to media persons at Gujrat on Sunday, the two leaders demanded that NAB should be allowed to work without obstruction, prejudice, discrimination and hindrance in Punjab as well.
They pointed out that grade 21 officer was being posted over grade 22 officer. This procedure of postings and transfers was not right. National Action Plan is not being implemented in the Punjab and the Rangers have been stopped from carrying out operation. "This is because PML-N ministers themselves are the facilitators here", Ch Pervez Elahi remarked.
PML-Q leaders bitterly criticised the new legislation "Women Protection Act 2015" and said the government should have consulted religious parties as there was no urgency for this bill. Ch Shujat Hussain said the objections raised by the religious parties and Ulema on the women rights bills should be removed and they should be taken into confidence. He said the religious parties and Ulema including their ally Maulana Fazlur Rahman have serious objections over the women rights bill.
"Our govt did a record legislation in five years (2005-7) but nobody raised any objection over it. If Shahbaz Sharif were to legislate the women rights bill then he should have consulted the Ulema and gone through the legislation done at the federal level during their tenure," they added.
They said now there is growing realisation among the people that our performance/governance was better than 8 years rule of Shahbaz Sharif. Ch Parvez Elahi said the rulers are delaying functioning of the local bodies institutions in Punjab to keep the development funds in their own hands.
These are the first local bodies election in the history of Punjab after which the newly-elected representatives are still searching for funds, their powers and offices because the rulers were against devolution of powers and distribution of funds at lower level.
"Shahbaz Sharif had dumped funds of all institutions into "maal banao" jangla bus (Metro bus) and dollar making orange line train projects", he averred.
He was confident that those assigned with accountability (NAB) will take account irrespective whether someone wants to account for or not.
