Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has groomed his successors to ensure continuity of his policies after his retirement on his due date.
Martial Laws were the result of political failures in the past, said former Federal Law Minister Senator S. M. Zafar during the 52nd Conference of Pakistan Visionary Forum held at TECH Society Club on the topic of "statement of Army Chief to retire on his due date and pressure on NAB Chief". Former Justice Sharif Hussain Bokhari, Former Minister of State Qayyum Nizami, Agriculture Scientist Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, Former Advisor Comsats Dr. Hasibullah, Former DG Intelligence Bureau Major Shabbir Ahmed (retd), Engr. Mahmudur Rehman Chughtai, Jameel Gishkori, Engr. Abdul Majeed Khan, Chaudhry Yaqoob, Aleena Tiwana, Dr. Ikram Koshal, Salman Abid, Prof. Mashkoor Ahmed and Azeez-ur-Rehman Mian also spoke. Justice Bokhari said that General Raheel Sharif had successfully ensured security in the country in such a manner that was unthinkable in the past before Zarb-e-Azb. "We should not be dependent on personalities rather institutions. Pakistan Army is the most reliable institution of the country having the capability to produce many leaders like General Raheel Shareef in the future too.
Qayyum Nizami said that people of Pakistan loved General Raheel Sharif due to his outstanding performance and achievements. He predicted that in future USA, UK, China and Saudi Arabia can demand extension of Army Chief to ensure continuity of his policies. He demanded that extension should be given to the Army Chief in the best national interest. S. M. Zafar condemned the act of 'pressurising' NAB chief and said that government should refrain from making any legislation to further pressurise the NAB.
