The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NVTTC) are jointly arranging a two-day "National Skills Show" to take place on March 29 and 30 at the Expo Centre in Johar Town.
The arrangement came up at a meeting of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh with commission Executive Director Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema at the former's secretariat on Monday. Chairperson Sheikh said, "The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission as a part of its employment generation through skill development are arranging the event to make a significant contribution towards developing a trained work-force in the Punjab to get absorbed by the national and international organisations.
"The objective to organise the show is to attract the business community to witness the projects prepared by the trainees of the Punjab under one umbrella. Already our trained youth across the Punjab will also be invited in the skills show to arrange job opportunities for them."
Executive Director Cheema then told the meeting, "The National and Multi-National Companies will place their stalls to display their products. Stalls exhibiting the products of demand driven courses will also be placed on this occasion by both departments. To make this event more successful and purposeful, career counselling conference will also be arranged in which heads of leading business community will also be invited to address the youth.
