Lahore Safari Zoo Park Officials urged to complete construction work on time

Provincial Minister for Forests and Wildlife Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan and Minister for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran while reviewing the pace of development work of Lahore Safari Zoo Park, have directed the senior officers of Communication & Works Department to complete construction work of cages and fences of animals and birds till the end of next month at any cost. They said that delay in the development work will not be tolerated at any cost and action will be taken against the persons responsible.
They said this while presiding over a meeting of the committee constituted by the Chief Minister Punjab to review the matters of Lahore Zoo, Safari Zoo Park and Drive in Zoo Park Jallo, here on Monday.
Provincial Ministers were briefed regarding the master plan of Drive in Zoo Park Jallo upon which they said that PC-I of the project should be prepared and presented by the end of current month. Deputy Director Lahore Safari Zoo Park Syed Zafar ul Hassan while briefing the Provincial Ministers informed that food court will be opened for public till the end of next month.
He said that prices of edible items have been fixed at food court and special care has been taken of the purchasing power of tourists in this regard. He said that the institution constructed play land for the children in Lahore Safari Zoo Park will start working from next week and providing recreational facilities to the children from October 2016. It was informed that contacts are being made with other provinces of the country, China, South Africa and India for exchange of animals to meet the shortage of animals and birds and completing their pairs in all wildlife parks of Lahore.
Provincial Ministers were informed that due to annual examinations of children and development work at Raiwind, spring festival of Lahore Safari Zoo Park has been postponed. Director General Wildlife Khalid Ayaz Khan, Consultant Jallo Park Dr Abdul Alim Khan, Honorary Game Warden Punjab Shahrukh Butt, Director Lahore Zoo Shafqat Ali, Deputy Director Safari Zoo Park Lahore Syed Zafar ul Hassan besides officers of departments concerned were also present on the occasion.
