Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif confirmed death sentences awarded to another 13 hardcore terrorists, who were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat, attack on Saidu Sharif Airport, destruction of schools, attacks on Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and civilians.
Twelve convicts are active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. These convicts were tried by military courts.
Irfan Ullah was involved in killing of 10 foreign tourists near Nanga Parbat Base Camp. He was also in possession of fire arms. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and was awarded death sentence.
Mushtaq Ahmed was involved in attacking Saidu Sharif Airport, killing employees of Metrological Department and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death of civilians and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 6 charges and awarded death sentence.
Muhammad Nawaz was involved in attacking Armed Forces which resulted in death of soldiers. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 3 charges and awarded death sentence.
Taj Gul was involved in attacking Law Enforcement Agencies, which resulted in death of police constables and levies persons. He was also in possession of fire arms, ammunition and explosives. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on 4 charges and awarded death sentence.
Asghar Khan (Convict Number 1), Ahmed Ali (Convict Number 2) and Haroon ur Rasheed (Convict Number 3) were involved in attacking armed forces, law enforcement agencies and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers and civilian. They were also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convicts admitted their offences before the magistrate and the trial court. Convict number 1 was tried on 6 charges whereas convict number 2 and 3 were tried on 7 charges. All have been awarded death sentence.
Bakht-e-Ameer was involved in attacking armed forces which resulted in death and injuries to officers and soldiers. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
Aziz Khan was involved in attacking armed forces and destruction of communication system in Gulibagh which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
Fazal-e-Ghaffar was involved in attacking armed forces which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on four charges and awarded death sentence.
Asghar Khan was involved in attacking armed forces, law enforcement agencies and destruction of educational institutions which caused death and injuries to soldiers and civilians. He was tried on 5 charges and awarded death sentence.
Ikram Ullah was involved in attacking armed forces and law enforcement agencies which caused death and injuries to officers, soldiers and civilians as well as damage to helicopters. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on four charges and awarded death sentence.
Haider is not a member of the TTP but was involved in killing civilians in Quetta. He was also in possession of fire arms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the trial court. He was tried on five charges and awarded death sentence.
