khurram-rasoolKARACHI: Former media coordinator of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Khurram Rasool, was presented before Judge Rai Nazir Ahmed on Friday.

The court handed a 3-day physical remand of Rasool to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Earlier, the FIA has demanded a 7-day physical remand of Khurram Rasool.

Rasool said, "All my business dealings were before I was appointed prime minister's media coordinator," and added, "The prime minister has no concern with my business dealings."

On January 25, a three-member bench of the apex court, headed by the chief justice, had directed the FIA to arrest Khurram Rasool and produce him in court on January 27.

On January 26, the prime minister’s former media coordinator was convicted in a banking fraud case for Rs 71 million and the Rawalpindi Accountability Court had sentenced him to three years imprisonment.
