Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khawaja on Wednesday directed police officers to discharge their responsibilities by taking prompt actions against criminals without any discrimination.
While chairing a high-level meeting at the central police office here, IGP Khawaja directed all relevant officers to build effective links with the CPLC, business community and civil society and to conduct meetings with them on regular basis.
While giving his recommendation for the eradication of street crime, the IGP directed to deploy police personnel in the most affected areas and to make snap checking and make system efficient. He asked the relevant officers to send him a proposal for formation of Anti-Mobile Phone Snatch & Theft Unit before long.
Khawaja ordered the SHOs to eradicate the dens of gambling, drugs and other crimes from their respective jurisdictions. If the SHOs fail to exterminate these dens, the strict action would be taken against them. He also ordered to action against the people who involved in smuggling of Iranian petrol.
The newly appointed Sindh police chief passed the directions to enhance security measures to save the life and property of citizens. Special security measures should be made for mosques, Imam Bargahs, worship places for non-Muslims, educational institutions and important buildings, he directed.
The IGP directed relevant officers to appoint experienced and idyllic investigation officers to probe the matters so that the cases could be taken to their logical end. Khawaja directed Additional IG Karachi to send him a proposal for the appointments on the vacant places of SPs, SDPOs and DSPs investigation.
DIG headquarters Sindh Zulfiqar Larik, AIG operation Ghayasuddin, additional IG Karachi, all zonal DIGs and SSPs were also present on the occasion.
