On the second day of the 116th Annual Sports of Government College University, Lahore, on Thursday, Muhammad Ramzan, a student of Physical Education Department, has won 1500-meter race. Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Hassan Amir Shah, GCU Sports Board Chairman Professor Dr Ikram ul Haq, Director Sports Khadim Ali Khan and other senior faculty members gave away medals to the winning students and departmental teams.
Speaking on the occasion, vice-chancellor Professor Shah said that the real beauty of their annual sports lied in the collective participation of students and teachers from all the academic departments of the university.
Above all, this year physically-challenged students are also participating in the sports.
Later, Mohsin Naveed, another student of Physical Education Department, won 400-metre hurdle race by putting his endurance to test; finishing the race in the 00:57:63 breaking his last year best of 01:08:28 seconds. However, in 100-metre final, Subhan Masood of Economics Department reached the finishing line in 10:75 seconds which earned him a Gold Medal.
