The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, received the Chairman of the Lower House of the Parliament of Republic of Tajikistan (Majlisi Namoyndagon), H.E Shukurjon Zuhurov, along with a Tajik Parliamentary delegation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The Special Assistant briefed the delegation regarding the progress towards further strengthening its democratic institutions and achieving economic stability during the past two and a half years. He reiterated that Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoyed a special bond of friendship, which had been further reinforced by the recent high-level visits from the two sides.
The SAPM outlined the vision of the Prime Minister for greater regional integration and connectivity, in order to unleash its economic and trade potential. He also highlighted the Prime Minister's initiatives for regional peace and stability, and his strong commitment to maintaining cordial relations with all neighbouring countries.
The Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyndagon thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for their hospitality, and reiterated their resolve to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two sides, as well as to enhance people-to-people contacts. -PR
