A joint investigation team (JIT) has been constituted to probe the powerful bomb explosion in a bus carrying government employees on Wednesday. The committee comprises KP Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel. The team has approached Malakand administration for assistance in the probe.
The committee has recorded statements of the injured, who are under treatment in different hospitals. Sources said that workers of the petrol station in Dargai, where the bus was parked for an entire night before leaving for Peshawar in the morning would be interrogated along with others. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Mubarak Zaib, while talking to the media said that around eight kilogram explosives were used for the blast.
PM Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack. He reiterated that terror attacks cannot deter nation's resolve to eliminate extremism. PTI chairman Imran Khan directed the provincial government to provide best treatment to the injured.
On the other hand, KP CM Pervez Khattak stated earlier that the federation should deploy Frontier Corps (FC) for protection of the province and bar entrance of militants who cross Afghanistan border to attack different parts of the country.
