The Qingdao Hengxing University of Science and Technology China (QHUSTC) will send master trainers to the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to train the Punjab youth in the Chinese language. The university will also provide technical assistance to promote technical education and vocational training, especially in the construction sector.
An announcement was made during a meeting with a three-member delegation of the Kingdao Hangzing University of Science and Technology, chaired by Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh on Friday at the latter's secretariat. The delegation members were university Chairman Doctor Chen Changjin, Wang Zi Hai and Fa Liang Shan.
Chairperson Sheikh detailing his guests on promoting the Chinese language in the Punjab said at present his organisation had started a three-month course for the public and a four-month course for the executive and business community in Lahore. "The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority is starting soon a three-month course in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad in the second phase. This course will also be helpful for the Pakistani youth who may intend to get jobs in Chinese companies working in Pakistan and jobs in China. The purpose is to make the already trained-skilled labour force of Pakistan more acceptable in the Chinese market," he added.
Delegation head Dr Chen Changjin said his country had emerged as a new global economy in the world. "Its role in the economic growth of the world is very significant. The economic cooperation of China with Pakistan will open new avenues for the success of Pakistani people." He also praised Chairman Sheikh's organisation's efforts to promote the technical education and vocational training system in the province.
