Deputy Secretary Sports Adil Saeed Safi Friday said that the provincial government would facilitate the association for holding three-day camps before the commencement of Quaid-e-Azam Games to be scheduled from April 5-8 at Jinnah Sports Complex.
Talking to media men soon after attending the review meeting about the so far preparation being made for the selection of 200 plus contingent to represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the forthcoming Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games where in 3500 male and female athletes from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would take part in 15 different games.
He urged the office-bearers of all association to select teams on merits so that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would have a good image. He said the aim and objective of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Games as mega event at Federal level to create harmony among different segments of the society which would ultimately strengthen national cohesion and integration.
The opening and closing ceremony, he said, will be organised in befitting manners. He said only three-day camps are enough for players to be short-listed for the mega Games as currently in the whole of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-23 Games of both male and female continued and some good talented have already come up through that way. He also urged on the association to submit full data, name, father name, age, blood group, size of the shoes, uniform and game details of the players to be sent to Islamabad for their accreditation and uniform etc.
The games comprising Athletics, badminton, boxing, hockey, judo, karate, squash, table tennis, teakwood, tennis, volleyball, football and wrestling. He disclosed that PSB has also announced cash incentives for those record positions in the Games. In the Individual categories the winners will be awarded Rs 7000, second will get Rs 5000 and third position will be awarded Rs 3000 respectively.
